Total Solar Eclipse @ Baxter State Park Maine

Real time and timelapse video of the total solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024. Recorded on the shore of Grand Lake Matagamon in Maine’s Baxter State Park. I edited out some bad language but left in the wows and oh mys 🙂 Words can’t begin to describe the experience and I am afraid even video can’t do it justice. If you have the chance, make the effort to put yourself under one of these if ever you can.

Big shout out to the folks at Matagamon Wilderness camps for holding our reservation for three years! I am sure they thought I was crazy, but we had a plan. Could not have asked for it all to come together better!

  1. I’m happy for you. Something for you to remember. I was on top of Mt. Washington for the last eclipse we had a few years back, but this one must have been much better.

    • Hiya Richard. Long time no talk 🙂 I don’t really post here anymore having moved to making videos, but thought this one was worth sharing. Certainly a singular experience, like nothing else I’ve ever seen or likely ever will. It was great that we found a beautiful place to see it alone as a family. Renting a cabin for two nights was key to enjoying without suffering in traffic heh. Take care!
