My goal was to get over 3000 calories per day with a limit of 40lbs of consumables including fuel and trail water.  Total weight for 20 days of the planned menu is just under 33 lbs leaving me 7 lbs to work with for luxury items such as fuel and water along with necessities like cookies and sipping whiskey.

I have balanced the nutrition to be heavy on the carbs because of the near constant elevation change on the LT so I anticipate needing those Clif bars throughout the day.  Still there is plenty of fat to keep me from starving to death and protein as well.

It isn’t healthy, but it works 😉 In this case I won’t see town so it is vital that the calories are not just plentiful but well balanced. On top of that it needs to be light enough to carry at the start without running out before I hit Canada. I am as curious to see how it works out as anyone 🙂
